Tiger Muskies at Evergreen Lake

May 17, 2008 bluequillangler 1 comment

The Tiger Muskies are starting to show up in the shallows at Evergreen Lake. I got my 9 weight out last night and walked around the lake and found lots of targets(8 to be exact) suspended in very shallow water. I got several looks but no takes. It is very exciting to cast to fish in the 30+ inch range. My goal is to catch one this summer. Jim Cannon/Blue Quill Angler

Throughout the summer, from April through September, we offer a course every Saturday entitled, “Getting Started in Fly Fishing.” This free two hour seminar is taught by Blue Quill Angler guide Gary Okizaki, or another of our seasoned instructors. This class is designed to wet your appetite for more! If you have any interest in fly fishing, this class is a fantastic way to get started. The instructor will give an over view of what is involved in the wonderful sport of fly fishing covering such things as equipment needed, basic knots, simple fly selection and a casting lesson. This class is a precursor to our 101 and 201 classes where you will enjoy a truly hands on learning experience. Bring your rod and reel if you have one, otherwise, we will be more than happy to let you borrow one of ours!

Classes are held at the Blue Quill Angler (www.bluequillangler.com) every Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to Noon
